First research projects started at Diamond

Diamond Light Source, in the United Kingdom, has opened its doors for business and welcomed its very first scientific users - top academic teams from Durham, Oxford, Leicester and London, selected from a total of 127 proposals. These first research projects will be carried out in beamlines that are part of Phase I (the synchrotron machine itself and the first seven beamlines).
