DOE advances NSLS-II project

The Department of Energy (DOE) in the US granted "Critical Decision 1" (CD-1) status to the National Synchrotron Light Source-II (NSLS-II), which will be a new medium energy storage ring and will replace the existing NSLS which began operations in 1982.
